elanya's drabble request

I wrote all my drabbles today at work, as well as half an installment of Conflation because I didn't really feel like going through the metric assload of leases on my desk and looking for discrepancies. I still ended up doing that, but at least I got nearly 5,000 words written, too. :)

So here's the drabble requested by elanya. She asked for Technocracy, so Technocracy is what she gets.

curtana requested something from our old Perseity game featuring my character Margot, just to put things in context for those readers who might not be aware of the campaign. The drabble doesn't need much by way of context, though.

sorceror is evil and asked me for an Incarnate drabble featuring little one-armed Shannons. I've done my best to accommodate him, but I realised that, as a player, I don't really "get" Alvin Standard. So I had to improvise a bit on his character. I hope I've done him justice.

karine's drabble request

Yet another gaming drabble request. I seem to have been in a lot more games than I thought. Writing this made me seriously nostalgic for Safiya. I miss the utter chaos, the blithe abandon with which she hurled herself into all her undertakings. :)

I don't know if I understood this one properly. He requested a cat story wherein the cat character was based on him. So, I tried to imagine him as a cat, and this is what came out of it.

This was a request for Tolkien, and I have to admit I was stumped for a while. I'm not especially comfortable writing in Tolkien's carefully-constructed universe. It's a bit as though someone came out and said: "Write a Bible fanfic!"

Still, I think this worked out reasonably well.

Conflation —Part 3

Okay, so since I'm on a posting spree, I shall give you the third installment of Conflation as well. Since I first posted it in the first week of February, and there is consensus that it should be posted every two weeks, I think that puts me about three, possibly four installments behind. I shall catch those up in due course, and then begin posting regularly, probably on Thursdays. You should all know that fallenseraph posts Slip/Stream on Thursdays as well, so you should go read that serial as well, and get two science fiction serials for the price of one!

I was originally going to go with Wednesdays, but a part of me is still hoping that Echo and Afterimage will one day resume in its regularly-scheduled slot. :)
